In business for 24 years
We are an owner-managed company. SERVICE is not only written in capital letters for us, we also live it. For us, it is not a profession, but a vocation! The profession stands for quality, which can only be achieved if you act in a trustworthy and competent manner. Continuous training and further education as well as regular attendance at international trade fairs and seminars are a matter of course for me.
Thorsten was born in 1975 and began his first apprenticeship in 1991 as a retail salesman specialising in broadcasting with a focus on hi-fi, which he completed after 3 years. One year later, he began his career in a NATO unit. There he was an instructor for combat behaviour and sport in an elite training company. He completed his training as a lifeguard and took part in the SFOR/KFOR peacekeeping mission.
In 2001, he trained as a certified pool operator. After ten years of professional experience in Germany, he moved to a municipal swimming pool in Belgium. The swimming pool there was partly used by the military. One highlight was a visit from the King's bodyguards, who took their exams there. Thorsten gained a lot of practical experience and deepened his knowledge of pool operations.
In 2018, he took over the management of the pool and sauna team in the north of Luxembourg. His team: five certified employees, four sauna masters, lifeguards, aqua course trainers and wellness staff. He was in charge of ten schools and coordinated the pool operations for 200,000 guests per year. During this time, he completed his training as an operations manager and master craftsman. He describes this time as his most enjoyable and most eventful.
He also obtained the "International Life Saver" diploma in 2021, which authorises him to work in open waters and by the sea, for example in Knokke, Ostend, Wangerooge or at the reservoir in Luxembourg. He holds licences as an aqua bike trainer (A) and aqua fitness trainer (B). Privately, he is a football trainer with a UEFA licence and referee for the 1st & 2nd division in Luxembourg. When he is not at the swimming pool or on the football pitch, he enjoys spending time with his family and walking along the Belgian coast.
